About GAC
The Global Autism Convention is a collaborative platform that brings together clinicians, educators, families, self-advocates, and policy leaders to explore autism through a lens of neurodiversity, equity, and cultural relevance, especially in low and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Our Vision & Mission
To shape a world where neurodiversity is celebrated, inclusion is the norm, and every individual with autism has the opportunity to thrive with dignity, support, and purpose. The Global Autism Convention (GAC) envisions an international community where science, empathy, and advocacy converge to transform lives and systems.
- Build Bridges Across Sectors and Borders: We are committed to creating a platform that unites professionals, self-advocates, caregivers, community leaders, and policymakers from across the globe to share cutting-edge research, lived experiences, and indigenous models of care.
- Promote Rights-Based, Inclusive, and Culturally Sensitive Autism Care: At the heart of GAC lies the belief that care must be contextual, respectful of diversity, and grounded in dignity and rights. Our mission is to challenge systems and conversations that exclude, and to amplify voices that are often unheard.
- Spark Change Through Science and Stories: Through a carefully curated scientific program, interactive workshops, and community-driven sessions, we aim to to bridge the gap between academia and action, between policy and practice, between diagnosis and identity.
- Spotlight the Global South: GAC 2026 will highlight innovations from the Global South, showcasing sustainable, community-rooted, and scalable models developed in low- and middle-income countries — often underrepresented in global discourse.
- Create a Legacy of Connection and Capacity Building: Our mission extends beyond the conference days — through pre-conference workshops, digital resources, youth engagement, and cross-sectoral partnerships, we aim to catalyze sustained impact for years to come.
